Fridays for teenagers —
Loud, fun, and full of heart
Every Friday in term time, sixty to eighty teenagers take over the Fellowship Hall. There is dinner (always too much of it), ridiculous games, live worship led by our youth band, a short honest talk from the Bible, and small groups where no question is off limits.
Youth Nights is run by Ruth Calloway, our Kids & Families Pastor, with a team of twenty screened and trained volunteers — many of whom grew up in the group themselves. Every leader is DBS-checked and safeguarding-trained.
A Friday night looks like this
Dinner together (7:00). Pasta, curry, pizza on rotation. Nobody eats alone — leaders host tables and save seats for newcomers.
Games and chaos (7:30). Wide games, tournaments, the occasional foam-pit evening. Winning teams hold the Golden Vicar trophy for a week.
Worship and word (8:00). The youth band leads, then a fifteen-minute talk on real life — anxiety, friendship, identity, hope.
Small groups (8:30). Same leaders, same six friends, every week. This is where the real growing happens. Pickup at 9:15.
Parents: safety first
Sign your teenager in at the door and out at pickup. Our safeguarding policy is reviewed every year, a first-aider is always present, and Ruth is available on (01632) 960123 for any concern, any time.
