Scripture first
The Bible is God's word to us. We preach through books of the Bible, verse by verse, and teach everyone to read it for themselves.
About us —
For thirty-five years, Hawkridge Parish Church has been a place where doubters and disciples sit side by side — singing the old hymns and new songs, opening the Bible, and sharing life together.
Our story —
1991 — A living-room beginning
Fourteen neighbours start meeting in a farmhouse on Church Lane to pray, read Luke's Gospel, and share supper. Within a year, eighty people are crowding in.
1994 — The sanctuary rises
The congregation builds its first permanent home — the room we still worship in every Sunday, with the same wooden pews and the same open door.
2008 — Tables beyond our walls
The Fellowship Hall opens, and with it the City Table Pantry. What began as twelve food parcels a month now serves hundreds of families every week.
Today — One family, many rooms
Over 1,200 people call Hawkridge home, meeting in sanctuaries, chapels, living rooms and school halls across the city — and there is still a seat for you.
What we believe —
We are an Anglican parish in the evangelical tradition — rooted in Scripture, centred on Jesus, and open to everyone the Spirit draws through our doors.
The Bible is God's word to us. We preach through books of the Bible, verse by verse, and teach everyone to read it for themselves.
We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus — not by background, behaviour or belonging. Nobody earns a seat here; every seat is a gift.
Hymns and new songs, organ and guitars, silence and shouting — we bring everything we have to the God who gave everything for us.
From our street to the nations. Every member is a missionary — in their home, workplace, school and across eight countries we partner with.
